This month Vimeo restricted access to videos on our channel.

We had a paid tier for awhile, and in the past when the subscription was turned off, existing videos remained online, remained watchable. Vimeo changed ownership earlier in 2026, now they no longer keep videos accessible without a paid subscription – without prior notification.

And since YouTube removed our channel citing misinformation more videos were hosted at Vimeo. However, earlier this year we started a new video channel at DailyMotion, in the coming days and weeks we will migrate the Vimeo vault over!

The videos on Vimeo had little views in general, so the impact for people seeking climate coverage will be minimal. The low Vimeo views are generally due to the fact that these videos do not show up in the typical search queries.

What is extreme, even in the Vimeo backend we can no longer access our own videos.

We still have the option to file a lawsuit against YouTube, in order to get our old channel in back. Which was until ca 2019 one of the most watched climate science based channels on YouTube.

With enough funds, we will hire a lawyer to look into YouTube’s actions. YouTube is located in California, there the laws in regards to social platforms are strict and legal action expensive, thus a considerable barrier.
