We started experimenting with AI in February 2025 with limited results. Since July 2026 we use AI for text-to-speech voices, and to help create articles and videos. With companies ramping-up their AI data center capacities without having sustainability in mind we thought it is time to define our focus.

    EarthClimate AI Usage Guidelines

Due to the massive fast scale-up of data centers, many problems arise, including but not limited to, water resource usage, high energy demands — pollution from fossil fuels, security, or potential deforestation as part of data center construction.

EarthClimate uses AI in a responsible way to reduce costs. With AI, we can cover more topics – more climate coverage. The AI industry is a fast-evolving landscape and, so far, our main priority is not to use space-based resources, or resources connected to controversial data centers.

We project that in the coming months more diverse AI will become available, including options which meet all our guidelines, including sustainable powered models.

Additional there is a lot of confusion when it comes to AI usage in general, some people have become more ciritical of content even when it is not using AI. We will aim for more comprehensive referencing our content. This may be very detailed at times, or refers to a reliable source.

You can find articles crafted with the help of AI via the AI tag, and videos showing a notice on start. Videos published since 28th of July 2026 will state in descriptions what content type uses AI (text, voice, images or video clip).
