In the speech, Senator Whitehouse shares that companies with internal prices for carbon include Microsoft, Exxon-Mobil, Disney, and Google.

Thank you Senator. You have proven that you do not need to legislate on
this issue. If the large companies you mentioned are hold others that they
do business with, then you do not need to do anything in Congress.
Although trees and other plants need CO2 in order to breathe.
The senator never said that Devine. He’s showing that some companies are
taking their own steps in order to show that Congress should no longer
ignore the problem either.
Yes, trees need CO2 to breathe, but they had plenty of it before the
industrial revolution. Also, carbon is hardly the only chemical released
from industrial plants into the air. And Max is correct, only a few
companies, and hardly the worst offenders, are voluntarily stepping up
their efforts to limit their pollution. This area needs to be addressed and
carbon pollution needs to be drastically reduced, and quickly.
A company’s internal fees of $15-$60 per metric ton of carbon seems a bit
too low to have any effect. However, if ALL companies were required by
federal law to pay such a low fee, then that revenue could be used to
accelerate the research needed to improve energy efficiency.

Senator Sheldon. The technology to increase the energy efficiency of
America’s industries and large commercial buildings is not new technology.
It has been in use in North America for over 30 years. Industry and large
property owners have not been interested at investing to Increase their
Energy Efficiency.
How many chimneys are there poking out of the roofs of commercial buildings
and industries across America?
Check out the EIA website to see how much natural gas was consumed last
year and over the past 10 years. How much was wasted? 20% ~ 40% ~ 60%?
At what temperatures?
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced utility bills = Profit
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced global warming
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Reduced CO2 emissions
Increased natural gas energy efficiency = Water conservation
The technology is called Condensing Flue Gas Heat Recovery. Recover the
heat energy in the exhaust and utilize it. Then vent cool exhaust.
America wants to create jobs? How many chimneys are there?
